What is Collaborative Outbound?
Our data suggests that as a Hiring Manager, you are in the hot seat to have a significant impact on outbound recruiting outcomes, while building the team you want.
What is it?
Converting the highest quality candidates does not come easy – those who’s skills are in high demand are consistently being approached by recruiters and alike. In order to cut through, we suggest a second-user approach to ensure the candidate receives your message through the noise.
The sequence tool enables this by allowing you to automate the generation of followup and nurture messages.
We find that on average it will take you between 5 and 10 minutes per week to go through messages generated by the sequence tool.
Why is it important?
Last year we assisted in creating outreach to over 6000 candidates. One theme we established was that Talent functions utilising a collaborate outbound approach engage with more candidates. This is due to a couple of factors:
- Candidates who experience multiple touch points with a business are more likely to feel genuinely welcomed by the business.
- Talent functions are often wholly focused on converting hires, at the expense of candidate experience. Rather than spraying potential hires with an inauthentic EDM sequence, utilise your domain knowledge to have a meaningful conversation.
- As you can see in the graph below, having a peer (ideally with a similar role) reach out dramatically improves the conversion of passive candidates. Having an Engineering Manager compliment your GitHub holds significantly more weight than a TA telling you they ‘love your programming skills’.
Does it work?
Don’t just take our word for it – check out our case study with Nearmap where we were able to increase response rates by 33%. Take a read!
As you can see above, two years ago this didn’t make much difference, however these days it can almost double your outcomes. Why not implement collaborative outbound into your 2023 hiring strategy?
